Been Busy - Here's a list:

Wow! Been over a year since my last post. Sorry folks. School just takes a lot out of me, I guess....

What's been happening besides school?
  • A good friend moved away to SC.
  • I moved twice, finally in a house I can stand.
    • Got a washer & dryer
  • I'm thinking of moving again but if I do, I'll buy the place.
    • That means selling the house in Knoxville.
  • Finally tackling the weight issue (again)
    • This time from the emotional angle instead of the food angle
  • WRITING!!!
    • Put in over 21,000 words on the female agent vs gun runner story
      • hit a wall
    • Writing other stuff
      • grad school application essay
      • blog posts
      • updated e-portfolio for 2 semesters
  • Taking summer classes
    • grammar
    • 4th semester French
  • Working - BGCOP
  • Health issues
    • Been healthy, but it takes work
  • Cats are good
  • Car needs work again
    • what's new?
  • SEO for one client
  • Website for one, one still due
  • Mentoring women in business
  • monitoring cat posts on FB
  • lawncare at house
  • yard cleanup @ Knoxville house
  • career planning
  • trust event occured in June (US Bank & Oakland County MI Probate Courts)
    • Met many of my cousins!
  • Let's not forget the "NO on Amendment 1" campaign run by some friends in E TN.
  • And political commentary never stops.
    • I really DO try to restrain myself.

Whew!

Yeah, I've been busy. Still found time to enjoy music, a few movies and read about 15 novels....

If I ever figure out how to "be still" it will be God's doing.

Lawn and Carpet

Today, the lawn gets cut again, and I start pulling carpet out of this place. I have till school starts to get rid of ALL of it! Self-imposed deadline, but I don't want to deal with it during school. I want to sand the floor smooth, fill in the holes left from construction, and then seal it from insects, stains and stuff that can grow in it. I also need to seal all the cracks - there are a lot of them in the foundation of this 2-year old house. That should get me through winter, and I'll be able to cover the stuff I actually walk on with rugs.

Next purchase - fencing and lumber for the garden beds. I need to get that started.

The pole got moved so I need help moving the shed. That will give me room for the BBQ and a picnic setup near the back door. Any volunteers?

I pray the enough comes in this month to pay the bills. It's pretty short.

Neighbors

Ok, yeah, I know - it's all in my reaction...

My neighbor is driving me up a tree!

I appreciate her help during the last 6 weeks, when I was unable to do anything, and her changing my dressing - That was something I just couldn't do myself...

But I'm wearing really thin! She's my neighbor, not my friend. There's a difference...

I've been unable to mow the lawn. It got really tall, so I asked her son to mow it and we agreed on a price. He had other things to do for 2 days, my lawn kept getting taller. I'd already found another person to do it - but he finally got it done - with his mom's help.

I'd offered to the kid as a way to teach pride of work. He's got a special-ed HS diploma, now, but still can't get this concept.

Why did mom step in? Can you spell co-dependency??? Now I can see why her marriage broke up. Putting the kids before the marriage relationship breaks up a marriage faster than money troubles or adultery!!!

On top of this little episode, the kid sets his alarm for 4AM and puts it right next to the window. It wakes me up. We have 20 feet between the houses, but his alarm wakes me up. EVERY DAMN MORNING!!! I've said something before, but if he doesn't move it, I'll break it. I'm tired and I need my sleep.

On top of all this, the woman keeps coming over every day. I need my space. It's my house, and I'm tired, unemployed looking for work, and my house looks like a tornado hit it. I'm fighting fleas and just generally don't want company.

So, it all boils down to me. I need to set boundaries again. I didn't feel comfortable while building this house - I felt like she was sitting like a spider, waiting to ambush me every time I came over to work. She is a total time-waster. I got the point across then, and I can do it again.
